Job Description

Southern New Hampshire University is currently seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Data Acquisition Developer. The Senior Business Intelligence Data Acquisition Developer is responsible for designing and developing solutions to extract, transform, clean, and load data and metadata into staging databases, data warehouses, data marts and other semantic layer objects using the Microsoft BI stack.

Essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following:

  • Work with business requirements analysts to identify and understand source data systems
  • Map source system data to data repository and semantic layer models
  • Define rules and capture metadata associated with ETL processes
  • Adjust ETL processes to accommodate changes
  • Design, implement, and support data warehousing and data mart projects in a Microsoft environment
  • Contribute to a team responsible for the design, development and implementation of mission critical business intelligence solutions
  • Design, develop, test, and optimize ETL data transformations to load data from multiple operational systems to the data warehouse for supporting core multi-dimensional reporting platform
  • Ensure that the integrity of the production environment is protected and that the correct components are released by actively interacting with the Change Control Board (CCB)
  • Define policies and procedures for the defect tracking configuration and release management process
  • Attack and resolve business-critical issues in a timely manner

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), data warehouse/data mart architecture and modelling, and SQL and SSIS development
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science or equivalent engineering degree
  • Strong T-SQL experience in writing stored procedures, functions, views, synonyms, and date functions
  • Strong SQL Server 2016+ knowledge and optimization experience
  • Strong technical documentation skills
  • Strong problem solving and metadata skills
  • Experience in logging, error handling, and event handling within SSIS packages for auditing
  • Experience with SDLC deployment scenarios thru DEV/QA/UAT/Prod BI stacks following industry best practices
  • Experience in defect tracking, release management, change management, and version control
  • Experience working through all phases of implementation and complete BI life cycle from requirements gathering through go-live
  • Experience and good understanding of agile methodologies and sprint planning
  • Demonstrated analytical, qualitative, and quantitative skills for data integrity testing all the way from source to reporting
  • Advanced technical computer skills as required for technical support specific to functional areas and related systems

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of SSAS, SSRS, Power BI, TFS, JIRA, Azure

Work Hours:
Typically Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm with flexibility to meet business demands as needed. This position will require approx. 30% of travel.
