Job Description

Southern New Hampshire University is currently seeking a passionate, skilled and talented Senior Front-End Developer to join our collaborative team in order to design, development, maintain and improve SNHU’s web experiences. We are looking for an individual who shares our tenacity and perseverance and will demonstrate a strong commitment to integrity and ethics. This role provides a variety of Web application design, development, and maintenance services for an innovative university and will be instrumental in improving the functionality and effectiveness of the university web properties with a laser focus on detail. They will provide support and guidance to fellow development team members. This role requires the versatility to work well independently and\or within a team; providing technical staff assistance, as needed.

Essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following:

  • Build responsive, mobile-first web controls and components that meet usability and accessibility web standards and best practices
  • Be mindful of SEO principals and guidelines
  • Communicate effectively and accurately with team leads and account managers to facilitate on-time deliverables
  • Contribute, develop, and follow detailed technical specifications
  • Accurately scope and estimate deliverables
  • Managing code in a version control system
  • Mentoring, supporting and guiding your peers
  • Helping define standards and best practices for Front-end development patterns
  • Performing informal code reviews and validating changes within pull requests
  • Relentlessly aspire to improve and have a positive, can-do attitude while pushing the limits of the status quo every day through innovation, forward thinking, creativity and risk-taking

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Please include a portfolio with an example(s) of code that you have written that you feel demonstrates the value that you would bring to the team
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical area, or the equivalent in education and experience
  • 5+ years of web development
  • Strong development skills in: HTML5, CSS3/SASS, JavaScript, AJAX
  • Experience in writing dynamic web interfaces
  • Working knowledge of major Web browsers with cross-browser and cross-device debugging skills
  • Experience with front-end build automation systems such as Grunt or Gulp
  • Experience with JavaScript libraries such as jQuery, Angular or React
  • Experience with front-end boiler plates such as Bootstrap or Foundation
  • Experience in using version control systems such as GIT, SVN, TFS
  • Proficient at writing reusable and modular code

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Sitecore certified highly preferred
  • Familiarity with Scrum or Agile development lifecycles
  • Experience with any CMS, Salesforce, Google Search Console, GA and GTM
  • Experience with mobile-first development
  • Familiarity with ADA/WCAG standards
  • Experience with Personalization and AB testing

Work Hours:
Typically Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm with flexibility to meet business demands as needed.
