SNHU’s Innovation Center has been tasked with preparing the university to navigate the uncertain future of higher education and respond, adapt, and transform with the ebbs and flows of forces and challenges beyond our control. The R&D unit, within the Innovation Center, will inform the design, development and testing of emerging technologies, processes, and competencies to better prepare the University for the student of 2030. SNHU is currently seeking an Assistant Director of AI solutions for its R&D unit. This role will report directly to the Executive Director of Research and Development and is responsible for driving projects embedding AI solutions that will prepare SNHU to serve the learners of 2030. Essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following: Bring data science expertise to the Innovation Center’s understanding of AI solutions Assist in identifying and determining the feasibility of potential AI solutions Work with both technical vendors and end users to determine the requirements for the design and development of AI solution prototypes Demonstrate consideration to ethical aspect of using student data and can actively inform ways to mitigate the risk of bias in AI solutions Collaborate with stakeholders to serve as a “problem scout” to better understand the challenges facing our future learners and guide the design of future pilot projects oriented around artificial intelligence Monitor cross-industry landscape, particularly tech sector, for compelling products, services, and companies and develop relationships with prospective external partners and vendors Manage alignment of artificial intelligence engagement with University strategic planning for 2024-2030 Communicate key research findings internally to peers and externally to clients and partner organizations in writing and in person Effectively multitask and track multiple projects, clients, deadlines, and deliverables Accountable for end-to-end AI technology product ownership, development, integration, customer experience, return on investment and benefit realization Translate strategic innovations into compelling business propositions taking into account e.g., technology readiness levels, consumer insights, and market acceptance Play a strong global role providing technical leadership for innovation team developing new concepts, business propositions, applications, and services based on data Apply project management skills in communication with internal and external stakeholders, cost benefit analysis, feature roadmap prioritization, and execution of software development projects Minimum Qualifications: Master’s Degree(s) in mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering or related field Equivalent of experience in lieu of degree acceptable Strong technical skills on machine learning/AI with proven track record Strong technical knowledge on big data technologies, cloud, and opensource software tools Outstanding track record of successful solutions design in the digital space Demonstrated leadership skills and relevant experience on IoT, connected systems, and application Strong record of starting new activity areas and E2E management of projects related analytics enabled solutions and transferring to production as appropriate Skilled writer and communicator for both technical and non-technical audiences Work Hours: Typically Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm with flexibility to meet business demands as needed.
